Before you apply

  1. Decide the course of interest – you can find our Masters Course List here.
  2. September 2024 Priority Application Deadline - 2nd September 2024 - Applications received after this date will be considered on a case by case basis.

Documents required

When submitting your application, be prepared with the following documents. As part of the application process, we need:

  • A personal statement (preferably no fewer than 500 words) detailing your reasons for wanting to study your chosen course;
  • Copies of transcripts of highest qualification achieved and English translations (if applicable). At GIS we accept and assess applications on an individual basis. With this in mind, we can consider professional experience in lieu of formal qualifications;
  • One academic and one professional reference and English translation (if applicable);
  • Copy of proof of English language level e.g. Academic IELTS certificate (if applicable).

International applications should also include:

  • A colour copy of a valid passport;
  • Copies of any previous or current UK visas.

Applications will be assessed by a member of the admissions team and may also be reviewed by our academic programme leader. Applicants will receive updates to their application through email and will be able to view your conditions and progress of your offer by logging in to the applicant portal.

Application process

Ready to join us? Applications can me made through the GIS Learner Portal

  1. Register as a new applicant – To create a new account, visit the GIS Learners Portal and select the ‘Create an Account’.
  2. Fill out your personal details and submit your documents: Make sure you check the entry requirements on relevant course pages and the documents section above in order to submit the relevant documents.
  3. Review and Submit: We encourage you to submit a fully completed application with all the documents that are required.  Applications that are not fully completed cannot be submitted but can be saved and visited later once you have the documents ready to upload.

If you are awaiting your results or any other documents, please inform our admissions team.

If you would like to change the course or add another course, you can do so by making a new application by logging into your Learner portal.

September 2024 Priority Application Deadline

We strongly encourage you to submit your Masters application well before our 2nd September 2024 priority application deadline to allow sufficient time for assessment of application, ensure availability on the course and enrolment in time for the beginning of your studies. Applications received after this date will only be considered on a case by case basis.

After you submit your application

  1. Track the progress of your application– You can log into your learner portal at any time to monitor the status of your application.
  2. Check your offer Applicants who are successful in receiving an offer will receive an official offer letter through email, which confirms the offer and any outstanding conditions associated with it. You are also able to check the outstanding conditions on your Learner portal.
  3. Accept your offer - You can accept your offer via the learner portal or by emailing us at admissions@ucfb.com. We may also contact you asking you to provide further information to help us assess your application.
  4. Meet the conditions of your offer (if you have any) – In order to receive the final unconditional offer, please Upload all the documents required to meet the conditions. You can upload the documents using the ‘Evidence section’ of the learner portal.

International applications

Information on Student Visa:

We do not currently hold an international license, this means at this moment we are unable to accept international applications who require a Tier 4 Visa to study in the UK. If you already hold a visa that allows full time masters study in the UK and would like to submit an application, please send the relevant copies of any previous or current UK visas if you choose to study on campus and a color copy of a valid passport during the application process.

As the UK has now left the EU, all applicants from outside the British Isles who do not hold a current British passport would also require a visa to study in the UK.

Applicants who hold pre-settled or settled status are eligible to study with the Global Institute of Sport on campus.
