UCFB has re-affirmed its dedication to enhancing the student experience with the launch of an exclusive new venue for the UCFB Wembley Students’ Union.

The venue, named “The Dugout” marks a significant milestone in the growth of the UCFB Students’ Union, which continues to flourish as it delivers further opportunities for students to shape their student experience.

The multi-thousand pound investment features a new 10’ big screen with HD projector for live sport, additional HD televisions, state-of-the art games console facilities, a live music PA system, and pool, darts and table-tennis facilities. Students can also enjoy a wide variety of light refreshments including snacks and meals from the new food menu, and a student-friendly bar tariff.

UCFB Wembley Students’ Union President James Willcocks said of the development:

“It is amazing to think how far the Students’ Union as a collective has come this year. The Dugout is a sentiment of that and the ongoing support that the students have received from UCFB towards this exciting new social enterprise.”

UCFB Student Events Co-ordinator Tom Badger added:

“It has always been of huge importance to us at UCFB that our students have the best possible student experience during their course of study.

“The Dugout represents our commitment to ensuring that we match our ambitions both on and off the academic field of play. With an exciting calendar of events lined up for the rest of the year, the Students’ Union is pleased to have a new home from which they can continue to develop and grow.

“The venue has been designed to be flexible and dynamic to the needs of the students. It can be configured for various event setups, including a sports lounge, arcade style, theatre style and live music venue.”

The Dugout will see an eclectic array of events in the next few months, including comedy nights, live music and playing host to live darts fixtures, as the UCFB Darts team continues to succeed in the league.
