UCFB Wembley Accommodation FAQs

Is UCFB Wembley accommodation catered+

Hall of residence around Wembley are self-catered, with excellent facilities for students to cook to their own taste in modern studio flats.

A large number of restaurants and cafes surround the Wembley area, with the London Designer Outlet in particular hosting dozens of eateries, including many popular chains for different tastes.

Supermarkets are within walking distance of Wembley and include a large 24 hour Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury and Lidl, not to mention many more family-run convenience stores.

Do students stay in halls for a number of years?+

First year students are given priority over rooms in halls, but opportunities for second and third year students are available upon request.

When do I apply?+

Accommodation is available now for 2016/17 entry on a first come, first served basis. UCFB recommends that students apply as early as possible for hall accommodation in order to secure their preferred place.

How do I apply?+

Please complete the online reservation form via the UCFB website.

If I’m holding an offer from UCFB as my insurance choice, should I still make an application for accommodation?+

Yes. Please let us know that you are holding an offer as your insurance choice and then we can process your application without delay as soon as you accept a place.

Do I need to pay an application fee/deposit?+

A payment of £300 must be paid upfront, followed by £700 on the 1st July. This can be paid by bank transfer, cheque or over the phone.

Should you wish to cancel your accommodation request, this must be done in writing (emails are accepted) by 1st September. All rooms are offered on the understanding that you will stay and pay for the room for the entire occupancy period as stated on the Residency Agreement.

Is the accommodation deposit refundable if I don’t end up attending UCFB?+

The payment is completely refundable if an applicant fails to achieve the required grades to attend UCFB.

What are the options for accommodation at Wembley?+

How do I arrange a tour of the accommodation?+

How many weeks of the year will I be liable for?+

Contracts generally run for 42 and 51 weeks, and you are liable for the duration of your contract.

Who do I need to tell if I have a disability that affects the type of accommodation I require?+

In the first instance you will need to tell our Student Recruitment & Admissions Office on 03332417333 or via email:

Arrangements can be made where possible to accommodate individual requests from students that are disability related. Our Student Services team will work closely with you to find the best solution possible regarding your accommodation.

Do I need to let UCFB know if I will be living at home?+

No, this is not required and you can disregard any information you receive on UCFB accommodation.

What if I do not wish to live in halls of residence?+

UCFB halls of residence are offered for the full academic year and we encourage you towards this option. However, renting private accommodation is also an option for some students, such as students with families.

What happens if I defer my place at UCFB?+

In this case, please disregard any information you receive on accommodation for the current academic year. We will send you the information again for your deferred place at the appropriate time.

When I receive my exam results do I need to inform UCFB that I am definitely taking up my place?+

No. Your application for accommodation will immediately begin to be processed as soon as UCFB is informed by the academic registry at our validating partners that you have an Unconditional Firm (UF) place with UCFB.

I haven’t received information about accommodation yet. What should I do?+

You should have received accommodation information by the end of April. If you are a late applicant to UCFB you may receive accommodation information at a later stage. Can I be released from my Residence Agreement to move into private student housing mid-semester or to return to live at home?+

Unfortunately this is not usually possible. You will have accepted a contractually binding Residence Agreement for the entire academic session.

If my son/daughter opts to commute but partway through the first term decides they would prefer to move into accommodation, would it be too late?+

Are UCFB Etihad Campus halls catered?+

Halls of residence in Manchester are self-catered, with excellent facilities for students to cook to their own taste in modern Classic or Premium flats. A number of restaurants and cafes are only a short walk or tram journey away from the city centre and Etihad Campus.   A large 24 hour Asda, Spar, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, not to mention China Town, are also close to the city centre too.

Do students stay in halls for a number of years?+

First year students are given priority over rooms in halls, but opportunities for second and third year students are available upon request.
