If an applicant would like to change it so that we are their first choice then we will always be able to help with this. The exact process however varies on a case by case basis and is dependent on the current status of their application. They should contact the UCFB Admissions Team, by email at admissions@ucfb.com, who can give initial advice on this. They should also speak to UCAS on 0871 468 0 468 who can advise on the process of changing their details through them.

Any applicant who does not meet their offer conditions when results are released will be considered very carefully on a case by case basis. If an applicant has missed the offer conditions by a small number of points and has otherwise shown good potential then we may still accept them.

UCFB will only accept students who have demonstrated that they have the academic ability to succeed on their course and if we do not believe that an applicant will get the full benefit of our degree programmes then unfortunately we have to decline them. In these cases we advise that they reapply to us after further study and preparation.

In the majority of cases applicants will be assessed without the need for an interview based on their qualifications and application. In some cases we may ask for an applicant to visit us at UCFB and take part in some further assessments and interviews. We would generally ask for this in cases where an applicant does not clearly meet our entry requirements but has otherwise shown potential to succeed on the programme.

The contract between you and UCFB will commence from the date on which you accept your offer. You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason, although in order to assist the institution with future planning we may ask why you chose to end the contract.

The cancellation period and your right to cancel the contract without liability will expire after 14 days from the day that you accept your offer.

To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform Admissions, of your decision to cancel the contract by a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or email), including your name, address and the programme for which you accepted an offer. You can inform Admissions via admissions@ucfb.com. 

UK, EU and overseas students have to apply via UCAS.

UCAS is the online application process to apply to all UK higher education institutions. Go to www.ucas.com to access the apply system; click register/log in to apply to start your application.

No. You can only send off one application to UCAS per cycle. However, if they have used less than the maximum of five higher education institution choices, they can add more choices via UCAS Track, depending on the status of their application.

If you are holding a deferred place elsewhere you will need to be released from that institution on UCAS before you can reapply to study with us.

Yes, although you will have to complete a new application form as a previous application cannot be used. You are advised that you must discuss your application with UCFB before taking any action. Please contact admissions for more information.

UCFB will allow applicants to defer their entry for one year, as they recognise the value of taking a gap year. However, it’s a good idea to check before applying. When applicants are completing the UCAS application form, they should talk about why they are intending to take a gap year, what they will do and what they hope to gain from it. This will lend support to their application by providing valid reasons for deferring entry.

The single application fee will no longer be available so the fee for all 2024 undergraduate applications will be £27.50.

No. you can log in and out of the UCAS Apply section, amending details each time they do so. There is no time limit for completing the application once started, but the applicant must remain aware of the deadlines. Please note: As soon as you have sent off your application to UCAS, you can no longer amend it.

Yes. You can apply for multiple courses at each higher education institution.

Applicants should make sure the referee is someone who is in an official capacity and knows them quite well, so that they can write about their suitability for an undergraduate degree. This person may be a tutor, employer, supervisor, or someone else who meets the guidelines mentioned above. Applicants should not get a family member, friend, or partner to write the reference. If they do, the whole application will be cancelled by UCAS.

The UCAS Apply system has a detailed explanation on how to fill out the qualifications section of the form, as well as other advice elsewhere on the site. You should enter your qualifications as they appear on the exam certificates – you should not put in the UK equivalent. Also, you don’t need to send original exam certificates or any other papers to UCAS.

UCAS will process the application and if they need to query anything, they will get in touch with you for more information. The application will then be sent to the relevant higher education institutions for them to consider and you should receive a welcome letter from UCAS.

UCAS Extra begins at the end of February and runs until early July. If an applicant has applied for five courses on their UCAS application and didn’t manage to secure any offers, or turned down all of the ones received, they have a second chance to apply for a place.

We advise applicants to submit their application to UCAS prior to the ‘Equal consideration’ deadline on 31st January. However we also accept applications during UCAS Extra and Clearing.

If an applicant is unable to send their application in time we advise them to contact our admissions team to check availability.

Timetables are provided at the start of each semester. This will include the core curriculum and some Employability & Enrichment events. Further Employability & Enrichment events will be announced and communicated to all students throughout the year.

It is expected that online students will spend up to 30-35 hours per week on their studies. If online students wish to attend Employability & Enrichment networking events then they can do so at their own expense. Costs will include travel to the events.

This is dependent on the course. Students will have around 12 hours of academic contact time per week. Alongside this, students will take part in our Employability & Enrichment events consisting of guest speakers, work experience opportunities and management sessions.

It is expected that online students will spend up to 30-35 hours per week on their studies.

Students should expect to have classes between the hours of 9am to 5pm on Mondays to Fridays. This includes the core curriculum and the Employability & Enrichment events. However Employability & Enrichment events may occasionally run outside of these hours.

Student Finance is a government department who review applications and award Tuition Fee Loans, Maintenance Loans and Maintenance Grants. Most students rely on Tuition Fee Loans and Maintenance Loans to fund their study through the duration of their degree.

Depending on which campus you are based at, we would recommend that you budget for approximately £50.00 per week after rent and any bills.

Loans will be deducted automatically from your salary once you are working and earning over £25,725.00.

A UK student leaves higher education with an average debt of £35,000-£45,000. Student loans are based on each individual’s financial circumstances. Although most students will accumulate debt during the course of their degree, we advise that all students follow a budget to help keep track of spending.

Applicants who apply late for Student Finance are not guaranteed to receive funding in time for their course.  Applicants will still receive the same level of funding but this may be received after registration.

It can take 8-10 weeks for an application form to be assessed, and applicants should apply for funding as early as possible to avoid any delays in receiving funding. Application forms are available from February/March but applicants have nine months from September 1^st at the start of the new academic year to submit an application for funding.

Student Finance need as much detail as possible in order to assist with the means testing for each household, which ensures that each student receives a fair level of finance.

If the partner is part of the household then their income will be included in the financial assessment, for the previous year.

Student Finance will always assess a student’s circumstances based on the total gross household income from the previous tax year.

Yes, if there is a drop of 15% in the household income you can ask for a current year income assessment. For more information please click here to visit the relevant section on the .gov.uk website.

The loan is paid directly to you. You can use it for your programme fees and living costs. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) may take account of the loan when working out any benefits you receive. The amount you’ll get depends on when you started your course. It isn’t based on you or your family’s income.

If your programme starts on or after 1st August 2020, you can get up to £11,222.00 maintenance loan only for a year. Part-time and online programmes spread the cost over the length of the course.

You get the first payment after your programme start date, once your university or college confirms that you have registered. It will be paid in instalments throughout the year.

Repayments on Master's loans depend wholly on the amount you earn and if you earn under £21,000 you’ll never repay a penny. All repayments are taken directly from your salary by HMRC meaning you’ll never need to worry about making or missing a payment. If you earn over £21,000 per year and your income changes to below £21,000, repayments will automatically stop. You will repay 6% of any amount over £21,000. For example:

If I earn £22,000 a year, how much will I repay? £22,000 is £1,000 above the threshold meaning you will repay 6% of £1,000. This equates to £60 a year or £5 a month.

If I earn £31,000 a year, how much will I repay? £31,000 is £10,000 above the threshold meaning you will repay 6% of £10,000. This equates to £600 a year or £50 per month.

If I earn £40,000 per year, how much will I repay? £40,000 is £19,000 above the threshold meaning you will pay 6% of £19,000. This equates to £1,140 per year or £95.00 per month.

No. After 30 years any amount you currently owe is wiped out, so if for 30 years you earn £21,000 a year, you won’t have repaid a penny and your debt will be clear. The reality is only those on high incomes will ever repay their loans in full. It’s important to note that not repaying much because you’re just over the threshold isn’t a bad thing. These loans are designed as more of a graduate tax rather than a loan.

The interest rate is set at the rate of inflation (RPI) plus 3%. The interest rates are as follows:

• While studying – Your loan accrues inflation plus 3% of the outstanding balance. This continues until the first April after graduation;
• After studying and earning under £21,000 – Your loan accrues inflation only;
• After studying and earning between £21,000 & £41,000 – The interest rate will gradually rise from RPI to RPI plus 3%. The interest rate rises at 0.00015% per every pound earnt. Or to put it another way, if you earn £1,000 more, you accrue 0.15% interest;
• After studying & earning over £41,000 – Your loan accrues the full RPI inflation plus 3%.

Please note that all the above scenarios assume that inflation is positive (prices rising). It’s not yet known what would happen in a period of deflation.

To make sure the loan is in place for your first semester in September, students need to apply as soon as the forms are available in May/June.

Yes. In the early days of student loans, the government consulted on penalties to stop people repaying early and avoiding interest – thankfully the mass of feedback they received was against the idea and it was scrapped.

This is a service offered at UCFB to ensure that students who require additional support for a disability, long-term medical condition, specific learning difficulty or mental health need receive help to apply for and access their entitlement for support, and any reasonable adjustments available throughout their studies.

Students with a Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) entitlement will have a recommended package of support with a chosen provider.  Our experienced Learning Support Advisors offer guidance for students at every stage, from application to implementation, including helping the student to organise and access any assistive technology training or support that they have been awarded.  For formal Learning Support, evidence of a disability or long-term medical condition must be provided, however we can advise students on informal support available through our internal services, and recommend external services where required. 

Each campus has dedicated Learning Support Advisors within the Student Services Pastoral Team and they are based within the Student Services areas.  They can be contacted directly at learningsupport@ucfb.com for any advice, guidance or support.

Applicants need to declare any needs on their UCAS application. 

We encourage applicants to complete the DSA applications immediately after their Student Finance forms have been submitted. You can find the forms here.

The Learning Support Team at UCFB advise students around the type of evidence that may be required when submitting an application for support, and can discuss the process of being formally assessed for support if that is also necessary. If support is going to be required for September, an early application for DSA is recommended.

Once the DSA application has been accepted, the assessment process takes approximately 10-12 weeks.  Early applications are advised.

The wellbeing of our students is very important to us, and the Student Services Pastoral Team work with students on a one-to-one basis to ensure that the support package that they receive meets their individual needs.  We work closely with mental health, counselling and crisis services locally to ensure that students can access free, specialist support during term-time, as well as assisting students who may need to access services outside of the local UCFB areas. 

Arch View House at First Way is self-catered, with excellent facilities for students to cook to their own taste in modern flats. 

A large number of restaurants and cafes are available in the Wembley Park area, within just a few minutes’ walk. The London Designer Outlet and Boxpark Wembley host dozens of eateries, including many popular chains, and independent retailers to cater for all different tastes. 

Supermarkets are within walking distance of Wembley and include a large 24 hour Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury and Lidl, not to mention many more family-run convenience stores. 

All students are eligible to apply for rooms in halls. First years, returning students and Master's students all currently stay in the accommodation.

A deposit is not required. However, there is a payment of £250 towards your first rent instalment and is required at the point of booking.

If you do that, Unite will return the payment of advance rent to you. If the 7 Day Cooling-Off-Period has expired, you will have to pay all amounts due under your Tenancy Agreement unless a replacement Tenant is found for your Room. 
 
If you are a prospective first year undergraduate student and your offer of a place is withdrawn by UCFB as a result of you not achieving the required entry grades, you will be eligible to be released from this agreement. You may also be eligible to be released from this agreement if you are a prospective first year undergraduate student and you choose to go to a different University because you have exceeded your expected grades. To apply to be released from this agreement in the circumstances referred to above, you will need to supply Unite Students with the following: 

• A copy of your letter from UCFB withdrawing your offer or UCAS screen shot of your UCAS status which confirms that the required results were not achieved; or 
• A copy of the proof of acceptance of your new university by UCAS adjustment

Please make sure you mention anything that may have a bearing on your health and safety or the health and safety of those living around you.

No, this is not required and you can disregard any information you receive on UCFB accommodation.

UCFB would encourage you towards staying in Student Accommodation to fully experience student and campus life. However, renting private accommodation is also an option for some students, such as students with families. 

If you defer your place before confirming your accommodation bookings with Unite, please disregard any information you receive on accommodation for the current academic year. We will send you the information again for your deferred place at the appropriate time. 

If you defer your place after you make the accommodation booking, you should contact us as soon as possible.

The Athletic Union are responsible for the sports clubs and their members. You can contact the Athletic Union via email: auetihad@ucfb.com or wembleyau@ucfb.com.

UCFB are affiliated to the British University and College Sport (BUCS) Association which runs regional and national leagues and competitions. Students will need to attend trials, for team sports, in order to be selected to represent UCFB at a BUCS competition.

UCFB run a recreational programme for a number of sports. Any student of any level can enter this recreational sports programme for an annual fee. For more information on the cost and sports we offer within the programme please contact auetihad@ucfb.com or wembleyau@ucfb.com.

The price ranges from £30 – £120 depending on the sports club. This cost may also include training sessions and equipment.

The UCFB Wembley football training sessions and home fixtures are played at the recently renovated 3G all-weather pitch at Silver Jubilee Park, home of Hendon FC. Silver Jubilee Park’s pitch has been approved by FIFA and further developments to the facilities (new changing rooms, floodlights, terraces, turnstiles etc.) are continuing to be made. Other facilities are also used in and around the Wembley area.

UCFB Etihad Campus use the National Speedway Stadium at Belle Vue for all its football training and some matches, the Velodrome at the National Cycling Centre for the futsal training and Brookdale Golf Course for the golf matches and training. We also use the Regional Arena at the National Squash Centre and Regional Arena for football matches.

All teams are managed by highly qualified coaches or students with relevant coaching badges and compete against other higher education institutions in their respective regions.

UCFB provide match kit for all competitive teams and has a range of training kits available for students to purchase. Once you have received your student log in, please visit https://online.ucfb.com/, select your campus and visit our store.

UCFB continuously add to the provision of sports for all abilities ranging from competitive to leisure. However, if a student is interested in starting up a new sports club UCFB Athletic Union will offer support. For more information please contact auetihad@ucfb.com or wembleyau@ucfb.com.

This is not compulsory but UCFB promotes health and wellbeing activities.

UCFB are proud to be in the heart of the sports industry and pride ourselves in being inclusive of all activities for both genders.

Our recreational sport is available for all students and we have competitive opportunities in netball, football and golf for female students.

UCFB proactively seek work placement opportunities for all students to apply for, and advertise them accordingly. Placements range from clubs, associations and organisations, to businesses and companies – both in and out of a sporting context.

Placements can take place at any stage of a student’s education. After graduating, UCFB still advertises work placements opportunities to alumni for two years.

Students can participate in as many placements as they wish, however academic work must still be submitted and completed to the best of that student’s ability and must always be the number one priority.

Like the real world of applying for jobs, all students are expected to send a CV and cover letter to apply for each placement. Following this, the employer may wish to interview each student.

Yes. From time to time, employers state that the role will be paid.

Yes. UCFB work in partnership with many organisations globally in order to secure work placement opportunities overseas. Work placements have taken place in many countries including Hong Kong, New Zealand, Brazil and the USA.

Yes. At both UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus, students have the chance to apply for both paid and unpaid work placements in a number of business areas within the stadium.

This is very unlikely, but sometimes unavoidable. If this does occur, the student is expected to alert their lecturer and inform student services or an academic administrator. All academic work must be caught up on.

Graduates have gained jobs, both inside and outside of sport, at a number of organisations both in the UK and abroad. Jobs range from clubs to businesses, in many different business facets.

Currently, 90% of UCFB graduates are employed and almost two thirds of graduates are employed within a sporting context.

No. A student can pursue a career in whatever industry they wish. Some students study at UCFB in order to gain a degree in an environment for which they are passionate and have empathy.

UCFB stands for the University Campus of Football Business, as verified by the Department for Education (DfE).

UCFB forges relationships with local employers, many of which operate within the sports industry. Internal and external job opportunities are advertised through my.ucfb (our internal student portal), direct mail, and digital signage situated around both UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus sites, as well as on social media including Facebook and Twitter.

Wembley Stadium is extremely safe. The immediate surroundings at Wembley Park offer the new London Designer Outlet with many high end retail brands and a multiplex cinema. The first intake of students at UCFB Wembley have found the surroundings to be peaceful and friendly.

Manchester is a vibrant city. The city centre and its array of shops, restaurants, bars, museums, leisure facilities and live music venues is just minutes away by tram by from the UCFB Etihad Campus.

UCFB respects the diversity of the student community and offers support where it is required.  There is a prayer and contemplation room available at both campuses.

During Freshers’ Week all students will be provided with information on how to register with a local GP.

Yes. We understand that our students have individual talents and pastimes, and wherever possible our highly attentive Student Services team endeavour to encourage continued personal growth and development. If you have any particular desire to continue an activity whilst at UCFB, please contact our Student Services team and we will endeavour to support you as best we can.

A laptop can be borrowed from the library on a day-to-day basis. Compulsory reading materials and stationary will need to be purchased.

Yes. All UCFB degree programmes are delivered on a full-time basis and whilst UCFB forges relationships with local employers within the sports industry and locally, any work commitment will have to be in the evening or weekends.

It is important that whilst we understand part-time work is a requirement for many students, we expect students to dedicate a minimum of seven hours per day, five days a week to their studies.

Students are encouraged to dress respectably when attending the stadium for lectures and study. For Employability & Enrichment events formal business dress is required.

The Students’ Union supports a range of societies. The Athletic Union has provision for both competitive and non-competitive sports. In addition, there are ad-hoc events and other extracurricular activities through the Students’ Union.

If you’re starting a course on or after 1 August 2021, you must have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme to get student finance.

If you’re coming to the UK from 1 January 2021, you may need to apply for a visa to study here.

Irish citizens do not need to apply for a visa or to the EU Settlement Scheme.

This is government funded loan to cover up to all tuition fees, paid directly to the higher education institution and paid back by the student once they earn over £25,000 per year. It is worked out on an income basis and is deducted from their wages in the same way tax and insurance is.

At UCFB we have scholarships of up to £6,000 reduction in tuition fees which will be awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence or exemplary extracurricular activities. If you are an EU or International student and have received an offer to study on one of our undergraduate courses then you are eligible to apply for the scholarships. If you do not a passport from either the UK or Ireland, you will require a visa to study in the UK. If you are unsure please follow this link. 

UCFB cannot currently sponsor visas for students.

International students can of course study the MSc International Sport Management (Online) and Football Business (Online) programmes without the requirement of a visa.

Please check your Visa for eligibility to work in the UK. If you can, UCFB encourages students to work part time as long as it does not interfere with their studies at the institution. Our Student Services Team works closely with students to ensure financial stability.

Your visa will clearly show how many hours you are permitted to work. If you are unsure please email compliance@ucfb.com for clarification.

EU and EEA students will have free access to the NHS, however under new government rules International students who require a visa to live and study in the UK will have to pay £150 per year.
