The Bursaries can be taken in one of the following formats:

  • Contribution towards UCFB Partner accommodation
  • Travel card from term time address to campus for 1 year.
  • Tuition fee reduction (only for applicants not eligible to receive a tuition fee loan)

UCFB Means Tested Bursary

The Means Tested Bursary scheme is one of our most popular and oversubscribed financial support schemes at UCFB, every year we receive far more applications than we can reasonably assist with.

In order to give all applicants a fair opportunity to apply for support, our means tested bursary will be run in three rounds.

Round one

  • Opens – Monday 16th January 2017
  • Closes – Friday 31st March 2017
  • Awards issued by – Friday 28th April 2017

UCFB scholarships and bursaries are typically only offered to applicants who have firmly accepted UCFB as their first choice institution on UCAS. We understand however that finances are a big consideration for many applicants to choose where to study, so to be eligible to apply during round one, you simply need to be a current UCFB applicant holding an offer for 2017 entry on any programme.

Provisional awards will be issued in round one to any offer holder who meet the eligibility criteria and confirmed for any applicant who goes on to firmly accept our offer and enrol.

Round two

  • Opens – Friday 5th May 2017
  • Closes – Friday 9th June 2017
  • Awards issued by – Friday 30th June 2017

Round two applications are accepted from any applicant who has received and firmly accepted an offer from UCFB via UCAS. The application will be open following the first applicant decision deadline of May 4th and will give applicants around one month to apply.

Please note that due to over-subscription, it is possible that fewer or limited awards will be available during round two.

Round three

  • Opens – Tuesday 1st July 2017
  • Closes – Thursday 31st August 2017
  • Awards issued by – Friday 8th September 2017

Round three applications will be opened for any applicant holding a firm offer from UCFB and in particular is an opportunity for applicants who have applied late or via clearing to receive an award.

Please note that due to over-subscription, it is possible that fewer or limited awards will be available during round three.

Scholarships

UCFB Scholarships are highly limited and competitive with far more applicants than available awards.

In order to give as many applicants as possible a fair opportunity to apply, the scholarship application form will be open on this page from January 16th and will close on May 31st. In order to apply for a scholarship, you must be a current UCFB applicant, holding an offer for September 2017 which you have firmly accepted through UCAS.

UCFB will endeavour to issue awards and respond to all applications by Friday 30th June.

Scholarship and bursary renewals

Please do not complete our scholarship and bursary applications if you are a current student who received a renewable scholarship or bursary in the current academic year. We will contact all applicants in May 2017 with further information on the re-application process.

In order to receive a renewal, applicants should be on track to achieve a 2:1 classification in their degree, have attendance of at least 90% and achieve 20 hours volunteering for UCFB.
